Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Errands With Ease platform (the “Platform”), operated by Errands With Ease. By creating an account, placing an errand, or accepting an errand, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
1. Definitions
- Platform — the Errands With Ease website and mobile applications, together with all related services.
- Client — a user who requests an errand to be completed.
- Runner — a user who accepts and completes errands on behalf of Clients.
- Admin — a member of the Errands With Ease team responsible for operating the Platform.
- Errand— a task requested by a Client and dispatched through the Platform, identified by a human-friendly “EWE-XXXX” identifier.
- Commitment Fee — the percentage of the errand value retained by the Platform to cover dispatch, support and operational costs.
2. Eligibility
To use the Platform you must:
- be at least eighteen (18) years of age;
- have a valid Kenyan mobile phone number that can receive calls and messages;
- be legally capable of entering into a binding contract under the laws of the Republic of Kenya.
3. Accounts and PIN Security
Sign-in uses your phone number together with a six-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN). You are responsible for:
- keeping your PIN confidential and not sharing it with anyone;
- all activity that takes place under your account, including errands placed, accepted, cancelled or completed;
- notifying us immediately at info@errandswithease.co.ke if you suspect unauthorised access.
Runner accounts are subject to Admin approval and identity verification before they can accept errands. We may require you to provide a valid national ID and a selfie during registration.
4. How the Platform Works
Errands With Ease is a marketplace that connects Clients with independent Runners in Nairobi. We do not perform the errands ourselves — we facilitate the match, support the transaction, and provide the tools for communication, tracking and dispute resolution.
5. Client Obligations
When you request an errand as a Client, you agree to:
- provide accurate pickup and drop-off addresses, contact details and a truthful description of the items or task;
- ensure that the items involved are lawful and not listed under the prohibited categories in Section 8;
- be reachable by the assigned Runner for the duration of the errand;
- pay the agreed errand amount, including the applicable Commitment Fee, in accordance with the in-app instructions.
6. Runner Obligations
When you accept an errand as a Runner, you agree to:
- complete the errand promptly, honestly and respectfully;
- follow any lawful instructions given by the Client as part of the errand brief;
- submit photo proof of delivery or completion via the Platform when requested to do so;
- comply with all applicable road, traffic and public-safety laws while carrying out the errand;
- not solicit Clients to transact outside the Platform in order to bypass Commitment Fees.
7. Commitment Fees
The Platform retains a Commitment Fee on each errand. The fee is set by the Admin and may vary by client, errand type or agreed override. Commitment Fees are calculated and recorded automatically by the Platform and are subject to an internal audit log. You can see the Commitment Fee applied to your errand in the errand details screen.
We do not process external card payments. All transactions are tracked internally on the Platform and settled in accordance with the current operational procedures communicated by the Admin.
8. Prohibited Items and Activities
You may not use the Platform to request, accept, transport or deliver:
- illegal drugs, narcotics or any controlled substance offered outside a valid prescription channel;
- firearms, ammunition, explosives or any weapon regulated under Kenyan law;
- hazardous, flammable, corrosive or radioactive materials;
- stolen, counterfeit or smuggled goods;
- live animals, other than within categories expressly permitted in the Platform;
- human remains, bodily fluids or medical waste outside a licensed courier arrangement;
- any item whose transport requires a regulated licence or permit that the Runner does not hold;
- any activity that would cause the Runner or any third party to break the law.
Errands that violate this section may be rejected, cancelled without refund, and reported to the relevant authorities.
9. Cancellations and Refunds
- Clients may cancel an errand before a Runner accepts it at no cost.
- Once a Runner has accepted and begun an errand, cancellation may incur a fee reflecting the work already performed and any costs already incurred.
- Runners who fail to show up, abandon an errand without a valid reason, or repeatedly cancel may face account suspension.
- Refund decisions in disputed cases are made by the Admin in good faith, based on the Platform’s records, photo proof and chat logs.
10. Conduct and Safety
You agree not to harass, threaten, intimidate or abuse any other user. Discrimination, hate speech and any form of sexual misconduct are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate suspension. If at any point you feel unsafe during an errand, stop, move to a safe location and contact the Admin at info@errandswithease.co.ke.
11. Liability
The Platform connects independent users. We are not a party to the errand itself and we do not own, handle or insure the items involved. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- we make no warranty that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free;
- we are not liable for the acts, omissions or misconduct of any Client or Runner;
- our total aggregate liability arising from any errand is limited to the Commitment Fee we actually received for that errand.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the law of Kenya.
12. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account, in whole or in part, if we reasonably believe that you have breached these Terms, put another user at risk, attempted to bypass Commitment Fees, supplied false identity information, or used the Platform for unlawful purposes. Where practical, we will tell you why.
13. Intellectual Property
The Platform, its branding, logos and software are owned by Errands With Ease. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for its intended purpose. You may not copy, reverse engineer, scrape or redistribute any part of the Platform without our written permission.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Before starting any formal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at info@errandswithease.co.ke so we can attempt a good-faith resolution. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, it shall be referred to the competent courts of Nairobi.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the service, the law, or operational practice. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and, where the change is material, notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of the Platform after an update means you accept the new Terms.
16. Contact Us
If you have a question about these Terms, please email us at info@errandswithease.co.ke.
