Delete Your Account

This page explains how to request the deletion of your Errands With Ease account and the personal data we hold about you. It applies to Clients, Runners and Admin users of the Platform. Read alongside our Privacy Policy.

1. How to Request Deletion

We do not yet offer in-app self-service deletion. To request that your account is deleted, send an email to info@errandswithease.co.ke with the following:

  • Subject:“Account deletion request”
  • From: ideally an email address you can be reached at, so we can confirm we have actioned your request
  • In the body: the full name on your account and the Kenyan phone number you sign in with — these are how we locate the account
  • Optional: tell us if you want only certain data deleted rather than the whole account (see Section 4 below)

We will respond within seven (7) days to confirm receipt and may ask you to verify ownership of the account before we proceed.

2. What We Delete

Once we have verified your request, the following personal information is removed from active systems within thirty (30) days:

  • your name and Platform profile;
  • your phone number used as the sign-in identifier;
  • the hashed PIN that authenticates your sign-in;
  • your role-specific data — for Runners, this includes your National ID images, selfie and any business-name details collected during onboarding;
  • your in-app chat messages and the device tokens used to send you push notifications;
  • any location records associated with your active errands.

3. What We Retain

Some information is retained after account deletion where we have a legal, accounting or dispute-resolution obligation to keep it. Where we retain this information, it is detached from your name and other directly identifying details so it can no longer be used to identify you in active systems:

  • aggregated and anonymised errand records, including amounts and Commitment Fees, kept for up to seven (7) years to comply with Kenya Revenue Authority record-keeping requirements;
  • dispute and support correspondence, kept for as long as is reasonably necessary to resolve any open complaints and for a reasonable period afterwards;
  • information that we are specifically required by law or by a court order to retain.

4. Partial Deletion

You can also ask us to delete specific categories of data without closing your account. For example, a Runner can request that identity-verification images and selfie are removed once verification is no longer relevant, while keeping the rest of the account active. Use the same email address as in Section 1 and tell us which categories you want removed.

5. Account Reactivation

Once an account is deleted, it cannot be reactivated. If you wish to use Errands With Ease again, you will need to sign up as a new user.
